Evolution of The Magical Girl by Shattered-Earth Evolution of The Magical Girl by Shattered-Earth
AKA Mahou Shoujo / 魔法少女~ Magical Girls will always hold a special place in my heart, I started with Sailor Moon, personally but they occupy this amazing space of media made for girls (well except you, cutie honey XD). I no I don't normally draw cute things or shoujo type things but I dunno, it was probably about time I paid my tribute.

Some of the characters I put in because they were personal favorites of mine or friends, they influenced us the most. Due to time and space constraints i couldn't fit every magical girl of course. Notables I could not fit: Princess Tutu, Pretty Cure, Tokyo Mew Mew, and like MANY others xOx Seriously, not going to reply to any more "Where's MY favorite" type comments, sorry!

This is going to be a print at Fanime (12x18"), I hope people like it :)

Looking for the names of everyone? Look no further: [link]

What else can I say about this hm.. well it took forever XD, I haven't done cel shading of any kind for a long time. I got a lot of awesome tips from *finni, bless her for dealing with my lack of knowledge in cel shading /n. I ended up having to adjust so many things and i made the shading muuccchh lighter than what it was originally D:~ I am always taking C&C but I can't guarantee i will be able to change this one due to the layer structure it's a huge pain in the patootie. Any C&C will be gladly absorbed for later reference though <3

Oh and a shout out to ~starlightgenie for research help :3

This piece is very cute and simple. I love the choice in sticking with the same style for each character, it shows your esthetic well! The shading is done well and the minor details are simple but crucial; excellent! The rhythm through out the piece is well placed from a single magical girl and building up to numerous girls.

Knowing that each of these characters have a similar color palette, such as pink, a background of a natural, soft, color will bring more emphasis to the characters and make the viewer move through out the piece.

Over all you did a fantastic job!

Would you mind if I used this image for my Research Poster? I'm writing about the History of Magical Girls in a Global Context and this image would work great. I would cite it. Let me know!

A research poster?? Do you mean paper or are you working on a poster? In either case, if it is for profit in anyway I can't let you use it but if it's non profit/non income related then go ahead with proper sourcing :)

It's not for profit at all. Basically I have to make a blog and a poster documenting my research on Magical Girls and how feminism influences it. I promise to source it! =D Thanks so much!
