I wanted to do a mirrored one taking place in the end game scene but i just couldn't get the composition to work, this part of the game is just the strongest visually to me. Well strongest yet simple.. the whole game was strong and breathtaking, but this is probably the first moment the player has where they realize this game is something special.
I'm going to have this as a print with me at my cons this year :3 Sakuracon this march, then ACEN and Anime Boston, Anime Next i think and AX andddd Otakon xOx. I hope you guys will like it. It is hard to draw fanart for journey because i always want to cry T_T
Detail shot Here
Mmmmm, this is one part of the game I like, there are others, but I'd bore you to death if I listed them all.
And yes, it does seem you have at least done the game justice with this picture, because the partial buildings are pretty accurate to the game as they are somewhat blinded out by that fantastic sun-set.
The ending was so resonating and just....ah. I got the soundtrack and I work at gamestop and I STILL tell people to go buy it. This piece does that one scene justice. Just.....i can close my eyes and just picture it.
Just another I would put in the same indie category as Journey that I just found recently....Unfinished Swan.
It's just.......vast like Journey...but with a whole different feel. Whenever I see someone else who has a huge appreciation for this game....i fell obligated to recommend something I think they will love as well.
There's a free demo on the PSN that is awesome.
I'll go away now. Lol. I just saw this piece and just revisited the whole game. Thanks for the visual treat.
I think we actually have unfinished swan but i haven't played it yet cause it looks so artsy XD but maybe i will with your recommendation
And I have played through the game several times on multiplayer. Whenever I get people to play it for the first time I have them play in single player first though. You're right as rain when you say its a completely different experience. But it resonates in an entirely different way when you play that first time alone.
And go play Unfinished Sawn! I have to go buy the full game, but the demo was damn good!
uhh the sheer emotional experience of it LOL, it's hard to explain if you've not played it or don't have a lot of feelings about what makes games unique XD
