I don't mind if it's a minor change, or if it's a completely different username that I can still associate with the artist (for example, something to do with an original character of theirs or maybe their nickname). But in cases where it, to me, has nothing to do with anything it's just super confusing. >_<

according to my stats page it says i watch 365 people but i think that includes clubes i've joined to submit art, it's probably muuuch lower XD

I watch about twice that much, haha too many people on my watchlist

I've got to go in there and trim it down a bit... I'm only a consistently active watcher for like 5% of them OTL

I think it's a good feature, considering. Mostly for people whom got an account years ago, have a weeaboo name and don't want to start over. I know some people start out with a nickname and change them over time to fit the current them. I've only had like six people change on me, one was changing letters to capitals, one was a friend changing it to the name her friends now refer to her as. Others were out of the blue, but oh well.

I think it'll be most helpful for those who've chosen bad names and those with weird numbers and such, but i know there are people who also like to change usernames every 6 months for fun, haha. i wonder if they worry about diluting theier "brand"? but i guess if they were in the habit of doing that already they wouldn't care in the first place..
